It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?!
Tuesday is my favorite day of the week because I get to read….and eat candy! YUM! A huge thank you to Shannon Houghton for the Treat Tuesday meme picture. Check out her fabulous blog Ms. Houghton’s Class.
Liar and Spy by Rebecca Stead goes well with peanut M&M’s!
“I’ve already made my selection, which is peanut M&M’s, otherwise known as one of the world’s perfect foods.”- Georges from Liar and Spy
I really enjoyed Liar and Spy! I loved the main character Georges and how he turned things around at school….I would so be a member of the blue team. I also enjoyed the mystery and suspense. There is great character development and attention to detail especially when it comes to Georges, Safer and Candy. The ah-ha moment in the book made we want to re-read it from the beginning right then and there! I highly recommend you read Liar & Spy and please let me know if you feel the same way.
Speaking of the character Candy….could their be a more perfect character when it comes to Tweet Tuesday?! I love how much she loves….candy! So many great references to the corner store and purchasing candy. I know that is one of my favorite memories as a kid. Do you remember when the only thing you thought about was getting just a little bit of money so you could go spend it on your favorite candy? I will never forget going to a store called Jack’s and buying candy cigarettes and Ring Pops. Of course all this talk about the character Candy and actual candy made me think of the song Sugar, Sugar by The Archies!
If you would love some fabulous resources for the book Liar and Spy look no further than my friend Mr. Schu’s blog Watch. Connect. Read! He is famous for sharing great books and the resources that go with them.
So have you read Liar and Spy? What did you think? What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? I look forward to hearing from you and reading your comments.
