It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?!
Tuesday is my favorite day of the week because I get to read….and eat treats! YUM! A huge thank you to Shannon Houghton for the new Treat Tuesday meme picture. Check out her fabulous blog Ms. Houghton’s Class.
Noah Webster & His Words by Jeri Chase Ferris and Illustrated by Vincent X. Kirsch goes well with a delicious banana.
If you have been following my Treat Tuesday posts you may have noticed a difference in my snack choice today. Yes, it is a healthy choice…*Gasp!* I chose a banana because I weighed my self recently and I have gained 5 pounds! Hmmm…..might be all that delicious candy I have been eating for my posts. So I will be eating healthy treats sometimes too. Also, don’t you think the banana goes great with the yellow book cover?
Can I just say that my new favorite type of book is the biographical picture book? Who knew? That is why I love my nonfiction book gap challenge.
I really enjoyed reading about Noah Webster. What a fascinating person! I think we would have had some interesting conversations. He would also clearly be a member of the Nerdy Book Club if he was alive today. I mean he LOVED to read! He was a scholar, a teacher, a writer, a public speaker, a reporter and a lover of words. After reading this book, I really want to visit the Noah Webster House in West Hartford, Connecticut. So please check out Noah Webster & His Words a book about a very interesting person and fellow BIB-LI-O-PHILE [noun: a lover of books].
So what are some of your favorite picture book biographies? Who do you think is fascinating? What historic sites would you love to visit? I look forward to your thoughts in the comments section.
I just read this one a few weeks ago. It was so interesting. I never thought of him as a real person. Totally understand about the healthy treats!
Thanks! 🙂 I agree. A real interesting read.
Healthy treats are lovely! 🙂 I’m scared to step on the scale. 😉
I hear you! More healthy treats in my future posts! 🙂
I have this on order, so I’ll be anxious to read it!
Let me know what you think! I thought he was a very interesting person.
