It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?!
Tuesday is my favorite day of the week because I get to read….and eat candy! YUM! A huge thank you to Shannon Houghton for the Treat Tuesday meme picture. Check out her fabulous blog Ms. Houghton’s Class.
Ten Things I Love About You by Daniel Kirk and The Center of Everything by Linda Urban go great with a Caramello candy bar.
I adore books by Linda Urban. I’m a huge fan of Hound Dog True and A Crooked Kind of Perfect. So I am excited to start reading her new book The Center of Everything. Linda Urban is a master when it comes to writing characters you wish you knew in real life. If you haven’t read her books I highly recommend you put them at the very top of your books to be read list. Check out Linda Urban’s website to find out more about her amazing books.
Ten Things I Love About You by Daniel Kirk is an adorable friendship story. I love the humorous banter between Rabbit and Pig. Obviously Daniel Kirk has experience working with children. I think the back and forth between Rabbit and Pig could just as easily be two of my 2nd grade students talking to one another. The Top 10 lists at the end of the book are priceless. I could give you the top 10 reasons why I love this book but I think you would have more fun reading the book and sharing it with others instead. Check out Daniel Kirk’s website for more information about his books.
Have you read any Linda Urban or Daniel Kirk books? What did you think? I look forward to hearing from you in the comments section.
I love Library Mouse. I also enjoyed this follow up stories. Our first grade students wrote mini books like the main character. FUN!
Great idea!
