My MRA conference book loot goes well with Trolli Peach Rings.  I picked up Penny and Her Marble by Kevin Henkes, Snow Day! by Lester L. Laminack, Elli McDoodle: Best Friends Fur-Ever by Ruth McNally Barshaw and Summer Reading: Closing the Rich/Poor Reading Achievement Gap by Richard L. Allington and Anne Mcgill-Franzen.

I had an amazing time at the Michigan Reading Association Conference over the weekend. I was able to see inspiring presenters such as Paul W. Hankins, Donalyn Miller and Richard Allington. And I had a blast spending time with my Nerdy Book Club friends.  Here are some pictures of my inspiring and very tiring (but so worth it) weekend.

beth Beth Shaum visited my 2nd grade classroom and my 2nd graders loved it! Beth is awesome teacher, blogger and friend.

ColbyMy fabulous friend Colby Sharp. He does it all- Title Talk, Nerdbery, Nerdy Book Club and the Sharp-Schu Book Club! What a awesome friend and educator. Check out Colby’s blog!

Kat Katherine is an amazing blogger, educator and friend. I think all educators should follow Katherine’s inspiring and thoughtful blog.

MargieMargie and I meet for the first time! She is the sweetest person ever!! Thank you for my amazing book Margie! I will cherish it forever!! Margie has a wonderful blog about books and Twitter.

Donalyn Miller

Donalyn Miller is working her book magic! It is AMAZING to see The Book Whisperer  in action!

I loved the sign but wasn’t brave enough to buy a hot dog.

nerdberyIt was a blast watching this Nerdbery video get made. It was great to see John Schu and Colby Sharp making a video together! John’s blog is my favorite! It is always full of book trailers and other awesome resources! Check it out!

Thank you to all the wonderful presenters and my Nerdy Book Club friends for making it a conference that I will never forget. I love sharing and learning from my fellow educators. I’m looking forward to seeing many of my friends again at ALA in Chicago in June.
