It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?!
Thank you Shannon Houghton for the awesome meme picture! Check out Shannon’s fabulous blog!
Little Dog, Lost by Marion Dane Bauer and illustrations by Jennifer A. Bell goes well with grapes. Plus, my pants are getting a little too tight….so it is time to switch to healthy snacks.
This year my second grade students love books about animals. Their favorite read aloud books have been Love That Dog by Sharon Creech, The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate and Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. So I am reading Little Dog, Lost to my class next. I selected this book because I have a new found love for novels in verse and my friend Nicole strongly recommends it! I can’t wait to read it and share it with my animal loving class.
Check out author Marion Dane Bauer’s website to learn more about her and the many children’s books she has written. What types of books do your students enjoy? Do your students love animal books? If so, what animal books are their favorites? I look forward to reading your thoughts in the comments section.
Cracks me up you wrote about your pants getting tight. I can relate! Little Dog Lost is really a cute book.
My students wanted to tell me all about their animals when I finished reading today. So cute!
🙂 Healthier treats… lovely. The little dog looks adorable, love her books…
He is adorable. I think my students are really liking the book. 🙂 Yup. Time to get healthy!
Grapes are good, I say, as I brush cookie crumbs off my face. 🙂
That chapter book sounds so sweet and kid-appealing! I was just looking at Bauer’s books on the shelf the other day, when looking for Joan Bauer books at the library. Now, I’ll have to head back!
My students are really enjoying it and making connections to their own pets.
