It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?!
Thank you Shannon Houghton for the awesome meme picture! Check out Shannon’s fabulous blog!
Every Day After by Laura Golden goes well with a yogurt parfait. The treat today is a nod to my pal Mr. Schu who loves showing us pictures of the yogurt he is eating on Twitter. He wants nothing to do with chocolate. I love him….but I don’t understand him.
Nothing makes me happier than reading books with strong, feisty female characters! If you love books with “girl-power” like I do, then you will enjoy Every Day After and fall in love with Lizzie. She puts the spunk in spunky! Giving up is not an option for Lizzie Hawkins! She is left standing at Wits’ End Corner: her father is gone, her grades are slipping, her mother is ill and her best friend likes her worst enemy! What will happen to Lizzie? How will she survive The Great Depression? This book was a real page turner for me because I was rooting for Lizzie and wanted to know what was going to happen to her next. I think you will root for her too. So pick up this book from an independent bookstore or library and read it today.
If for some reason my gushing review didn’t convince you… here is the book trailer for Every Day After.
What “girl power” books do you love? Have you had a chance to read Every Day After? What did you think? I look forward to reading your thoughts in the comment section.
Can’t wait to read this one! 🙂
Let me know what you think! 🙂
Niki, this is on my TBR list today and had to add it to my “girl power” shelf on Goodreads. Some of my favorite girl power characters are Marty McGuire and Clementine – girls who aren’t afraid to be themselves.
I love those “girl power” books too. I think you will love Lizzie!
Girl Power is ALWAYS important! I’ll have to add this one to my list 🙂
Awesome! I think you will love Lizzie! She never gives up!
