It’s Treat Tuesday! What are you reading….I mean eating?! Um. I mean Treat Wednesday! My post is running a little late this week!
Thank you Shannon Houghton for the awesome meme picture! Check out Shannon’s fabulous blog!
The Water Castle by Megan Frazer Blakemore goes well with a yummy cookie and brownie made by Elizabeth Fama and her family. I had the pleasure of going to her wonderful party on Saturday night in Chicago.
I finished The Water Castle last night and highly recommend it. A magical and mysterious book all the way up to the end and beyond.
I had an amazing time at ALA this weekend. I did not attend the conference sessions. However, I loved visiting the Exhibit Hall and meeting so many of my favorite authors. All the authors were so sweet and friendly. It was a fabulous couple of days. The highlight was the Newbery/Caldecott/Wilder Awards Banquet on Sunday night. The speeches by Jon Klassen, Katherine Applegate and Katherine Paterson were beautiful and inspiring. I am so blessed that I was able to meet so many of my favorite authors and also hang out with my wonderful tribe….The Nerdy Book Club.
The view of Chicago just outside my hotel.
My favorite picture from the Exhibit Hall! I’m with my pals Beth Shaum and Sherry Gick.

Peter H. Reynolds was so warm and friendly. Now I’m looking forward to Dot Day even more!
I loved meeting CeCe Bell and Tom Angleberger! What an awesome team! I can’t wait to share Crankee Doodle with my second graders!
I am so happy I was able to chat with Laura Golden at length! She is so sweet. I love her book Every Day After.
My pal David Etkin is a huge fan of Patrick Ness! But then again who isn’t?
