I love so many blogs that I couldn’t fit them all in one post! Here is day two of my favorite blogs! The blogs on my list today really make me think and help shape and change my teaching. Check out these creative and smart bloggers today.
I am so thrilled that Donalyn Miller has her own blog! Her new title should be the “Word Whisperer”! She just has a way with words when she is talking about reading! First read her books- The Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild. Then you must check out her new blog! You will love it!
Thank goodness I joined Twitter because I might not have realized that one of the sweetest, quirkiest, funniest and smartest people I have ever met was hiding in plain sight! I am talking about my awesome librarian and friend Travis Jonker. I love how he always seems to find the quirkiest and funniest news about children’s literature and posts it on his blog. I love his blog because it makes me think and laugh!
Teri Lesesne is the Goddess of YA literature! I also imagine her wearing a super hero cape and kicking Accelerated Reader’s butt in a single bound….but maybe that is just me. Teri is passionate about reading and she tells it like it is…her posts always get me fired up! If you are passionate about books, teaching and libraries then her blog is a must-read.
I love learning about what other countries are doing when it comes to education. I have heard a lot about the awesome education system in Finland. So I was very excited to find Tim Walker’s blog all about teaching in Finland. Tim taught in the U.S. but has moved to Finland with his family and is now teaching 5th grade in Helsinki. I have really learned a lot about what they do differently in Finland compared to the United States. His blog posts always make me think about what I can change and do better when it comes to my own teaching in the U.S.
Ben Gilpin is a elementary principal in Michigan. After you read his blog posts you will wish he was your principal! I just love his positive, thoughtful posts about teaching, students, the school culture and social media. He also shares awesome videos and links to other great blog posts.
I hope you are able to find a new, awesome blog to follow from my suggestions! So what blogs do you love? I’d love to hear about your favorite blogs in the comments section.
