If you haven’t read Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein I highly recommend it! I loved this book! It reminds me of books by Roald Dahl! In fact, Mr. Lemoncello is much like the eccentric Mr. Willy Wonka. Imagine Charlie and The Chocolate Factory but instead of Chocolate you have board games, elaborate clues and books all set in a fantastic dream library! Yes, book lover or reluctant reader this is the book for YOU!
And speaking of fantastic dream libraries: After reading this book my new life goal is to become a billionaire… then I can create magical dream libraries everywhere, similar to the one found in Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library.
The book made me think about what I would include in my dream library if I could create one like Mr. Lemoncello. I thought of 2 things I would include right off the bat! First, I would have to have the best and most cherished librarians work at my dream library! I would of course ask all my Nerdy Book Club librarian friends to work there! Can you imagine a public library with all the amazing librarians from Nerdy Book Club?
Secondly, my dream library would have to have secret passageways and doors that lead to secret rooms and book cubbies. I think that would be a book lover’s dream! I know I would love it! Check out these secret passages from an article at Book Riot!
So what would you include in your dream library? I would love to hear your ideas! Also, what are some of your favorite books that feature libraries? I always love reading books that feature fantastic libraries! Leave your ideas in the comments section. Also, if you are on Twitter you can use the hashtag #mydreamlibrary and let me know what you would include! I can’t wait to hear about your ideas and also your favorite library themed books! Have fun dreaming!
Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library also included many wonderful quotes about books! So I will leave you with an article from Buzz Feed with quotes and pictures of some beautiful libraries!
What a fun post! I’ll have to think about my dream library. 😉
Thanks Holly! I’d love to hear what you would include! 🙂
I would include a huge fountain that people would throw their wishing coins into just like in the book From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. As a kid reading this book I became fascinated with idea of living in a museum.
Love this idea! 🙂
